Yoga in the Office 4

Shoulder shrugs are the next best thing to a nice warm brownie on your break! This is simply because our shoulders carry a lot of tension and stress throughout the day. Often times becoming one of the body-aches to hinder our work ethic or ability to get the job done.

To accomplish a shoulder shrug you will start at your neutral position. With your hands relaxed at your sides, you will slowly rotate your shoulders up toward your ears as you inhale. While you release your breath you will lower your shoulders back to a resting position. Repeat this lift at minimum four to six times for the best effect.

With a world revolving so tightly around the internet, there are many typing jobs. Of which can lead to many wrist and hand problems. For this reason it is always a good idea to practice a wrist stretch from time-to-time within your work day. This will help you to relieve any tension or stress in your hands, all while keeping any possible adverse effects of the job from permanently taking your hands ability from you.

First you will hold your hand upward in front of you. Almost as if you were saying “stop” to a friend. Perhaps even envisioning telling your boss to “stop” will aid in a little extra humor! Interlacing your fingers, pull your fingers gently back to stretch your wrist. Keep your shoulders relaxed while you hold for a minimum of four deep breaths. Now, repeat with the opposite hand. This exercise should be done sporadically throughout the day to aid with hand or wrist pain! It takes mere minutes, and will save you countless hours of unnecessary pain or discomfort

So as you can see, these are all simple implementations of yoga in the office. Offering you a wide-variety of easy to follow instructions, and a few handy tips to get it done. You should now be ready to get through your crazy work week!

However if yoga in the work space simply isn’t enough. You should consider picking up a class! There are countless hundreds of classes available, during all hours of the day. Often times allowing you to relax further, and pick up additional tips to bring into the office. It is a win-win situation for all involved! Not only will you have a few hours a week to unwind through peaceful poses, but your boss will be amazed at your productivity level increase due to yoga in the office!
