Hatha yoga being one of the most common. Some styles that should be avoided at all cost for back pain are Kundalini, Ashtanga, and Bikram yoga. Of which are especially challenging, and more high-impact. As a whole, yoga will aid you in aligning your body. Basically meaning that you will learn to feel each individual body part, and know exactly where and how to move it. Yoga emphasizes the core work, however there is substantially less abdominal workout in yoga than other exercise routines. Remember, you should always listen to your body. If it is becoming more painful, chances are you are over-doing it. To understand your body, and listening to it is an important part of the yoga life. This of course will help you to achieve your need for strengthening body, mind, soul; along with helping with extreme back pain.
