The Yoga Sutra outlined the eight limbs of yoga as follows: the yamas (restraints), niyamas (observances), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration), dhyani (meditation), and samadhi (absorption).

Any mat that is used for yoga should be non-slip. However, not all manufacturers take this added precaution when producing their yoga mat. Read the labels on the box or any details online. If they offer little or no information on being non-slip, you might opt to go to the next box before making your decision.
